WHERE IS OAXACA, MEXICO?

Oaxaca state is located in southern Mexico, just a one-hour flight from Mexico City. It sits right on the Pacific Ocean.


Oaxaca de Juarez also known as Oaxaca City is in the center of Oaxaca state. Oaxaca is one of the most ethnically diverse states in Mexico known for its rich culture, colorful markets, mezcal, and cuisine.

Traveling to Oaxaca

From the US

Direct Flights: Available from Dallas, Houston, and Los Angeles.

Alternatives: In case of no direct flights, consider a short, affordable flight from major Mexican cities like Mexico City (approx. $100, <1 hour).


From Mexico

Direct Flights: Accessible from various cities like Merida, Cancun, or Guadalajara.


WHEN SHOULD I FLY INTO TOWN?

We are planning to have some welcome cocktails on Wednesday, November 20th. We recommend arriving no later than Tuesday, November 19th.

WHAT IS THE WEATHER LIKE DURING THIS TIME OF YEAR?

Forecast: No rain expected; daytime temperatures around 80°F and nighttime temperatures between 65-70°F.


Reminder: Oaxaca's altitude may require sunscreen during the day and warmer attire for cooler nights.


Where to Stay & Getting Around

Recommended Hotels: Listed options on the website are great for exploring Oaxaca City and accessing event venues.


Ideal Locations: Any accommodation near Santo Domingo Temple within the city center.


Transport: Majority of locations are walkable; no need for a rental car.


Airport Transfer: Cab options available: Individual (3-4 people, ~$45 total for car) or Collective (up to 8 people, ~$10 per person).


No transport will be provided for welcome dinner or reception.


Wedding Day Details

Event Duration: Plan for a long day; comfortable attire for standing and walking, plus something warm for the evening.

Venue Details: All venues will be outdoors with limited or no cover.

Cuisine: Traditional Mexican/Oaxacan flavors; vegetarian and vegan options available.

WHAT IS A CALENDA?

It is a Oaxacan tradition. It's pretty much a parade through the streets to celebrate special events.

HAIR & MAKE UP SERVICE

If you are interested in the hair and makeup service for the wedding day, our Wedding Planner team can help you coordinate your appointment and the staff will go to your hotel to perform the service.


COSTS

- Makeup $900 MXN (Mexican pesos).

- Hairstyle $900 MXN (Mexican pesos).

- Hair and makeup $1,800 MXN (Mexican pesos).


PAYMENT METHOD

A deposit of 50% of the service required must be made.

The other 50% will be paid in cash once they have finished fixing it.

*If you cancel the appointment, the deposit you made will not be returned.

- Hotel where you will be staying.


And you will be followed up by email to confirm the service.

HOW IS CELL SERVICE IN THE AREA?

Both T-Mobile and Verizon work well and will allow you to get service through TelCel. Please make sure you know what your international coverage is for your service provider.


We recommend downloading WhatsApp in case you don't have service.

IS IT SAFE TO DRINK TAP WATER?

Please stick to bottled water. Most restaurants and hotels offer clean, filtered water.

CHILDREN?

This will be an adults only event.
